Encouraging student leadership, collaboration, and creative confidence through the performing arts.
WHY OAK HALL PERFORMING
ArtsThrough our in-class curriculum and various co-curricular performances and events, we cultivate a wide variety of student passions. In Lower and Middle School, our performing arts program introduces students to the foundational principles of theater, while our students in Upper School develop a deeper understanding and appreciation in a conservatory-style setting.
At its core, our program promotes the development of essential lifelong skills through a comprehensive study of:
- Theater Terminology
- Stage Movement
- Improvisation
- Character Analysis
- Scene Work
- Script Analysis
- Musical Theater History
Edith D. Cofrin Theater
The Edith D. Cofrin Theater is a cornerstone of Oak Hall Performing Arts. With nearly 400 seats, this facility provides an exceptional space for performances and other school-wide events. Students attend classes in the theater and use the stage to apply lessons in real time, providing an immersive educational experience.
Shows and Performances
Every fall, Oak Hall holds a cross-divisional musical for students in grades 3-12. Students audition for their roles and work together to rehearse and prepare for three October performances. This musical allows students of all ages the opportunity to be creative collaborators and brings the entire Oak Hall community together to celebrate the arts.
Florida Thespian Festivals
Throughout the year, our performing arts students prepare to compete in the Florida Thespian District and State Festivals. These festivals are the result of months of hard work and preparation as students demonstrate their skills in a competitive setting. Our students qualify to compete every year and always leave highly decorated, winning many awards across multiple categories.
