The Oak Hall Leadership Lab is a non-credit, semester-long course designed to cultivate and enhance students’ leadership skills. Scheduled every Thursday from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m., this interactive lab serves as a dynamic platform for exploring the fundamental principles of leadership. Participants engage in a comprehensive journey of self-discovery, delving into their personal leadership styles, strengths, and practical applications.
This hands-on experience goes beyond theoretical concepts, allowing students to build their understanding of leadership actively. As you embark on your academic journey at OHS Upper School, our Leadership Elective offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. In this elective, students can seamlessly integrate leadership into their chosen courses. They have the flexibility to select any three courses they are enrolled in and conduct a Leadership Lens Review. Through this analysis, students explore how each course imparts valuable leadership lessons.
The Leadership Lens Review involves crafting a reflective paper for each selected course, showcasing the student’s insights into how theoretical leadership concepts are translated into practical skills. This flexible and tailored approach ensures that students gain a nuanced understanding of leadership within the context of their OHS courses. Successfully completing this Leadership Elective requirement contributes to earning the esteemed Leadership Institute Certification by graduation, highlighting your commitment to leadership excellence.
